Federal Regulations

The Mercury-Containing and Rechargeable Battery Management Act was implemented by the Environmental Protection Agency in 1996. The Act is meant to promote recycling and decrease the number of dangerous toxins that make it into landfills and groundwater. Some states have additional guidelines that companies must adhere to as well. Federal regulations mandate the documented proper removal, recycling, and disposal of commercial-grade batteries. We have taken careful steps to ensure your company is never at risk for EPA violations. 

 

Removal and Replacement

UPS batteries contain toxic chemicals, including lead. Batteries Unlimited removes aged batteries while carefully adhering to federal regulations. A new battery can be installed upon request. The whole process is documented for legal purposes.
